| We protest the fascist Turkish state’s massacre and imprisonment terror! |
September 2006 |
The fascist Turkish State, which is not able to find solution to any problems of the working class and labourers, of the oppressed Kurdish people, considers the acceleration of state terror as the way-out. By including all sorts of searches for rights in the concept of “terror” through new TMY (Anti-terror Law), the fascist State tries to intimidate the revolutionary and progressive opposition, to hinder the brotherhood of Turkish and Kurdish people as seen in the imprisonment of anti-imperialists who were protesting the parliament’s decision to send troops to Lebanon, in the detention and imprisonment of revolutionary and communists, in the massacre carried out by counter-guerrilla in Diyarbakir, and lastly in the banning of Atilim Newspaper for 15 days. Following the attack against anti-imperialists and revolutionaries -who were protesting the UN General Secretary, Kofi Amman’s visit to Ankara and the sending of troops to Lebanon-, and the imprisonment of 18 revolutionaries on 9 September in Ankara, another 23 revolutionaries and communists are being detained through police raids carried out in different cities of Turkey and Kurdistan on 8-12 September, and 20 of them have been put in prison. Ibrahim Cicek, socialist journalist-writer and Chief Editor of Atilim Newspaper, Sedat Senoglu, journalist-writer and Chief Coordinator of Atilim Newspaper, Bayram Namaz and Ziya Ulusoy, both of them are journalist-writer, Fusun Erdogan, the Chief Coordinator of Ozgur Radio are among the people those who have been imprisoned. Moreover, 3 revolutionaries, who were detained in Mersin, are also imprisoned in the same context on 15 September. Throughout the detention period, the police did not allow and still not allowing the detained revolutionaries to speak with their families and lawyers by using as excuse the new TMY (Anti-terror Law). Last but not least, on the night of 12 September, the counter-guerrilla forces of the Turkish State have carried out a bombing action where 10 people –8 of them are children- are killed in Baglar district of Diyarbakir. The incident, which proved the helplessness of fascism before the determent resistance of the oppressed Kurdish people struggling for their national-democratic rights, is itself the dirty war which was implemented very intensively in the past period in Northern Kurdistan. The new Chief of General Staff, Yasar Buyukanit, well-known by his enmity and racism against Kurds, and his gangs are the ones who gave the order and who put it in practice. The fascist Turkish State, which became soldier for its collaborator US imperialism and Israel Zionism in many regions of the world such as Kosovo, Afghanistan and Lebanon, wants to intimidate at first the vanguards through these state-terror and attacks which, in fact, target social opposition as a whole; wants to sabotage the existing desire for brotherhood and joint struggle among the peoples through massacre, provocation and lynch chauvinism.
